I wonder, when you play platformer arcades like Mario or, closer to local specifics, SuperTux, how do you feel about having to start a level all over again, if you screw up a one single move or jump near the very goal?

I didn't really have much fun playing this. The UI is poor, there is no feedback for individual clicks. No button depressions, and you can't drag and drop the items. The cat moves pretty slow, and scrolling is slow.

The worst thing about this game, is that as the cat picks up the items, they are returned to the toolbox, so if your attempt at getting the cat to the star is unsuccessful, then all of the items that were correctly placed must be placed again. It would be like if you were writing a software program, and if you run the program and it doesn't do exactly what you want, then your source code disappears and you have to start from scratch.

I didn't have any problems with dependencies. I just downloaded the Linux binary, and everything that it needs is available in the Debian repos.

There is no version stated, which would make it tough to come back later to see if this game has been updated.

Don't you have OpenSuse ? I know there are some people who encountered the same error message under Suse, and they've told there is a problem with SDL mixer, which was compiled without mp3 support. Recompiling SDL fixes the problem.

exactly what are the dependencies? I get this error: Raincat: user error (Mix_LoadMUS SDL message: Module format not recognized) I have everything suggested in the readme file.

Quote: I designed the game to be run with a fixed window size, which was a poor assumption in retrospect. So mouse clicks are interpreted as fixed coordinates which assume the default 800x600 resolution when I should be scaling by resolution.

May be this is the cause of a problem

Fun game, although the controls are a bit difficult. The eraser tool didn't work half the time and selecting the desired item also didn't work sometimes. I feel dragging the items to the desired location would be better for positioning the items, instead of selecting (with no visual feedback) and the clicking in the playing field.

Anyway, the game itself is ok, albeit a bit short.

Indeed it is quite difficult, and if someone has done it, do pls post a 64-bit executable. I tried to make one, maybe I'll try again later.

I had't played it myself, but as far as I know, it's a bit tricky to get it compiled and run. Especially for amd64.

It's a nice game, though it's very short and I almost gave up looking for dependencies
